What is Boudoir Photography?

Boudoir- pronounced as boo-dwaar hails from late18th century French word which means- a women’s bedroom or a private sitting room; a close setting to fashion images that can be soft, romantic, sensual or naughty. The main heart of boudoir photographer is to capture you in a seductive way by guiding you through the poses that accolade your body type.

Boudoir Photography is for every woman, no matter what stage of life you’re in or whatever your body type or size is. It brings out your best features and boosts in a sense of confidence and makes for a timeless memory. Boudoir photography if for women who are about to get married and want to surprise that special one in their lives with a unique and personal gift or for the ones who want to capture their beauty forever, a boudoir photo shoot 30 years from now will be a proof of your hotness or for those ladies who are expecting their first child, this photo shoot will act a reminder as to how your body looked before the baby.

Pretty much any woman is a great candidate for boudoir photography session. The only quality you need to have is well, to actually be a woman and confident.
I get a lot of questions as to what kinds of woman actually go in for this kind of photo shoot. Boudoir Photography is for everyone, for lesbians, for gentlemen and for the ladies who are glowing and bursting at the seams with a soon-to-be born baby. The assumption that it’s meant for just ‘hetero ladies’ is dead wrong. Boudoir photos are a celebration of beauty, sexiness and sensuality and a whole lot of fun.
One of the misconceptions with boudoir photography is that some people associate it with porn, which is absolutely wrong. It is about art, it’s not about getting undressed but rather showing off your best self. Though many boudoir clients have gifted these photos to their partners but you do these for your own self, for you have taken a bold action that’s made them look and feel amazing.
